Bangladesh and Afghanistan are playing yet another crucial match that will decide if the visitors will level the three One-Day International (ODI) series or if the hosts will clinch the series. By the looks of the current scenario, the game pretty much favours Bangladesh as they have grabbed their third wicket. Mossadek Hossain Saikat, who is playing his first ODI, not only starred with bat but also got a wicket on his first ball of Hashmatullah Shahidi. With this he becomes the first Bangladesh to achieve this feat and he also becomes the first to secure this against Afghanistan. He got this feat on his home soil. Hossain, was benched out for the first ODI and was called to replace Imrul Kyes.

For India, this feat was first achieved by Sadagoppan Ramesh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar when they played against West Indies and Pakistan respectively. Inzamam-ul-Haq has also got this feat under his hat. The first cricketer who tops this record is Geoff Arnold from England when he picked Graeme Watson in 1972 at Old Trafford.

As for the match, the visitors’ bowlers help their side to restrict the hosts at 208. Earlier, in the first ODI, the team gave away too many runs which resulted in a defeat. They came in with a better performance with the ball in the second match showing prominent signs of improvement and have successfully restricted Bangladesh within an achievable total. In the morning, skipper Asghar Stanikzai won the toss and elected to bowl first saying the wicket looked good to bowl on early and the bowlers supported the decision by the captain well, not letting the hosts with big partnerships. Stanikzai’s captaincy, Afghanistan’s strategy looked to be clearer in second match unlike that in the first. The other department the team worked on is fielding. Extremely sloppy in the first ODI, though Afghanistan missed a chance or two, they looked better than their previous performance. ALSO READ: Watch BAN vs AFG 2nd ODI Live telecast & TV Coverage
