Bangladesh managed a superb recovery in the fourth One-Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe at Dhaka. Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed after making a terrific 77. Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah combined in a crucial fifth-wicket stand. Mushfiqur went on to complete his half-century in the 30th over, while Mahmudullah completed his in the 36th over after shifting up gears and taking on the bowling.
Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan, Imrul Kayes, and Tamim Iqbal joined Anamul Haque, who scored consecutive fifties in the last two ODIs, in the pavilion to leave the hosts reeling at 32 for four in 12.1 overs. Anamul was dismissed for just five by right-arm pacer Neville Madziva, who had two wickets, while Solomon Mire had two as well.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Jubair Khan was awarded an ODI debut, while Abul Hasan came into the side as well. For the visitors, Tinashe Panyangara was replaced by Tendai Chatara. This is the first ODI since the tragic demise of Phillip Hughes, and both sides observed a minute’s silence as a mark of respect.
