Zimbabwe bowler, Tinashe Panyangara claimed five wickets in the first innings of the first Test match against Bangladesh at the Shere-e-bangla stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. His five wicket haul helped Zimbabwe restrict Bangladesh for 254 on the second day of the match.

Panyangara claimed both the openers of the Bangladesh squad in the form of Tamim Iqbal and Shamsur Rahman for cheap. But most importantly, he dismissed the top scorer for Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim at a crucial stage when he was in a good form and was going well. apart from these, he also dismissed two tail-enders and made sure that Zimbabwe wrapped up the first innings of Bangladesh without the tail-end batsmen causing any unnecessary problems or delays.

His previous best record was three for 28 that came way back in 2005 against the same team at this very venue. However, the only notable difference then was he bowled 10 maidens off his 21 overs, while in this match he bowled 23 overs and bowled five maidens.
