Barbadian all-rounder Kevin Stoute, who has never been selected in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), recently spoke out about his inability to find any takers despite having led Barbados to the 50-over domestic West Indian title a couple of years ago. According to bhpfm.com, Stoute said in an interview with a newspaper in Barbados, “It is disappointing, after my performances for Barbados in the First-Class competition, being one of the leading all-rounders in the Caribbean,  it is very difficult to accept the fact of being left out of the CPL squad, even if it is not the Barbados squad.” CPL 2016: Dale Steyn replaces Lasith Malinga in Jamaica Tallawahs squad

Stoute went on to say, “The stats are there to show. I average almost 30 with the bat and have done well with ball. I am a few wickets away from one hundred wickets and a couple runs away from 2,000 runs. I think that is a sign of a true all-round cricketer. To strengthen that, I have been MVP for the Twenty20 domestic competition in Barbados for the last three years.” CPL 2016: Organisers earn good response from ticket sales ahead of USA leg

Stoute later went on to say that he believed he deserved a spot in a CPL team ahead of some of the players who have been selected in CPL teams. “I do not want to point my fingers at any players but I think my performance speak for itself. I do not see any reason why should not be in a CPL team. I don’t think that it is my job to approach a franchise. At the end of the day, you are asked to register your name for the draft. I followed all of the instructions and registered my name for the draft. It is either you pick me or don’t pick me,” Stoute said.
