The Englishman Malan, who has played as many as 135 First-Class matches and 129 List-A games, showed his mettle with a belligerent innings of not out which came off balls. Nafees and Malan added as many as 150 runs from 17 overs to take the game completely away from the reach of the Chittagong Vikings (CHS). Their win, however, was not without a late jitter when they lost both Nafees and Thisara Perera on two consecutive deliveries from Imran Khan.

Nafees faced 59 balls and struck 7 boundaries and 1 six to score 65 runs. He was dismissed in the penultimate over of the game when it looked like Chittagong Vikings (CHS) would be handed out a 9-wicket defeat. Earlier in the game, Chittagong Vikings (CHV) posted a strong total of 163 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs against Barisal Bulls (BB), in the 12th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016 tournament. It was Barisal Bulls (BB) who won the toss and invited Chittagong Vikings (CHV) to bat first after winning the toss, at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Little did the Barisal Bulls (BB) know that the Chittagong Vikings (CHV) will make a rollicking start, reaching a strong total in their first innings. The star Bangladeshi batsman Tamim Iqbal scored a brilliant 75 to power his team to a rapid start.
