It was a historic day for the D’Oliveira family as Brett D’Oliveira became the third cricketer in the generation as many generation of cricketers to score a double hundred. What is amazing you ask, he matched the feat achieved earlier by his grand father Basil D’Oliveira and father Damien D’Oliveira. Brett remained unbeaten on 202* for Worcestershire in Championship Division 2 match against Glamorgan.  Brett notched up a 253 run stand with Joe Clarke, who was dismissed for 133. Brett brought up his double hundred with a boundary over covers. Worcestershire at end of days’ play were 414 runs ahead of Glamorgan with their 4 wickets already down. Basil scored the first ever double century for D’Oliveira family in match playing for Worcestershire against Yorkshire. Basil scored 227 in the first innings which helped his team win the match by an innings and 83 runs. His son Damien scored a double hundred for Worcestershire against Oxford University. Damien scored 237 runs in the first innings which helped his team win the match by an innings and 122 runs.

Another family who has score double tons is the Gavaskar family where Sunil Gavaskar scored test double. His son Rohan Gavaskar also scored a First Class double ton. While Rohan’s uncle Madhav Mantri also scored a First Class double ton. The Ranjitsinhji also has a Test double ton with his nephews Duleepsinhji and Hanumant Singh also notching up Test double tons for India.
