The Brisbane Heat BBL side have been fined $1,000 per player in the playing XI as a result of a slow over rate in their semi-final against the Sydney Sixers at the Gabba on 25 January 2017. The Heat were found to be 7.5 minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs, after allowances, which equated to being one over short. This fine will be reduced to $500 per player, should the Heat accept the penalty without appeal. In accordance with the BBL Playing Conditions, the Heat players each received a fine and Captain Brendon McCullum also received one strike. The strike for McCullum is only relevant to BBL|06, and does not carry over into next season’s competition. BBL 2016-17: CA charges 3 players for breach of Code of Conduct
