The cricket fraternity had barely overcome the Ben Stokes street-brawl incident when a group of Bangladesh cricketers managed to draw attention for wrong reasons. Bangladesh have already been whitewashed by South Africa in the three-match ODI series. The margins of defeat were humongous in every single match — 10 wickets at Kimberley, 104 runs at Paarl and 200 runs at East London. Captain Mashrafe Mortaza was left in utter despair following the rout. To add to their woes, a new controversy has cropped up.

Bangladesh players found in casino: Nasir Hossain, Taskin Ahmed and Shafiul Islam were spotted at a casino in East London. The players visited the casino less than three hours after their ODI whitewash and returned to their hotel at 10.34 PM — 34 minutes after the time stipulated by the team management.

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) take on the incident: BCB President Nazmul Hasan told Cricbuzz: “We will definitely investigate the matter and [take] appropriate action. Let us get the report from the team management after the tour. If it was a matter of one player we could have taken a drastic step but as there are three cricketers involved and we need some time.”
