BCCI announces Indian squad for upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup
The Board announced a star-studded squad for the upcoming ICC tournament which is set to commence from October 3

India have named their squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup. The Women in Blue, who reached the semi-finals in the previous edition, are placed in Group A of the competition along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Harmanpreet Kaul is the skipper and will be assisted by Smriti Mandhana as the vice-captain for the ICC tournament. Mandhanais expected to open the batting alongside Shafali Verma. Another top-order batting option is Dayalan Hemalatha.
Apart from them, the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh will boost a formidable batting line-up while Richa Ghosh is the designated keeper in the squad along with Yastika Bhatia.
Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Asha Sobhana, Sajana Sajeevan, and Shreyanka Patil are among the bowling options.
The likes of Uma Chetry, Tanuja Kanwer and Saima Thakor will also be travelling with the Indian team as reserves.
The tournament will begin from October 3 and will conclude on October 20.
