BCCI forms special committee to deal with Lodha recommendations

The meeting also discussed that India will play two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against West Indies in Florida.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) met Lodha Panel in Mumbai on Tuesday. Various discussions took place and apart from conducting Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) at USA against West Indies the other major decision taken was that BCCI will have special committee to deal with Lodha recommendations. The members were in one voice of the view that the recommendations were complex and would involve large-scale changes to be implemented across the board. Many technical and legal aspects were likely to come up in the future. In order to avoid the complexities of the issue, a special committee that will include the Rtd. The other part is India to play against West Indies for T20I series which will be interesting for the same BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke said, “This initiative is path breaking in terms of the expansion of our great sport. It is our endeavour to make every possible effort to connect with fans in different parts of the world.” On the decision, West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) President Whycliffe Cameron said, “This will be a great initiative in our continued efforts to develop cricket in the Americas (North and South America) a very important market.” ALSO READ: BCCI President Anurag Thakur cleared of criminal charge by HP high court

On Monday, BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke has responded to the letters sent by Lodha panel, stating that the parent body of Indian cricket cannot stop the state units from holding its elections. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) are not having their elections on scheduled date after Supreme Court-appointed panel sent a letter to BCCI to intimate associations that all state unit elections to be put on hold. This was after the apex court verdict on July 18 as the reforms will take place in next six months.
