After consecutive three humiliating losses in England the cricket bosses in India have finally decided to make changes in the appointment policies of the national selectors, according to a report in Mid Day.

The newspaper said Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is certain toly to abolish the zonal system for appointment of selectors. Instead of appointing five selectors from different zones, the five selectors would be appointed on merit by board itself.

This possible move has been appreciated by former selectors and administrators. Former India spinner and selector, Venkatapathy Raju was quoted in Mid Day  as saying, “This will give chance to former players to become the selectors at the young age”, he said from Hyderabad.

Former BCCI secretary, Jaywant Lele was quoted in the paper as saying that the selectors with an experience of at least one foreign tour with the Indian team should be selected for the post.
