Justice Mukul Mudgal, who was in charge to investigate the spot-fixing scandal during the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches is set to submit the final report on Monday to the Supreme Court according to lawyers close to him and his team.

The news come as a big surprise and has already started making rounds all over the country through the media. However, lawyers close to BCCI president, N. Srinivasan are said to go for an early hearing regarding the final report of the case, reports Mumbai Mirror.

The Supreme Court had already granted an extension to the Mudgal committee regarding the final submission of the report until November 10. However, it’s highly unlikely that the appeal from BCCI’s lawyers would be accepted.

With the BCCI set for an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 20 in order to review N. Srinivasan’s re-election as the president of the board, it is feared that the verdict regarding the prosecution may delay the proceedings for the AGM.

“Mr Srinivasan cannot contest in the election till he is cleared by the apex court. So everything will depend on the report. We’ll seek copy of the report and we will need time to study it.” said a lawyer from the panel of Aditya Verma. However, members from the Srinivasan panel believe that the BCCI would get a clean-chit from the Supreme Court.
