The enthusiasm for Pink-Ball cricket as well as day-night Test seems to have been a passing cloud in India, for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have not shown any interest about any of these in recent times. It was right after Australia and New Zealand brought this new phenomenon into cricket arena that Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), led by its President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly, organised a Pink-Ball match under lights. Though the idea of using the pink ball was adapted for Duleep Trophy, it is unclear if BCCI are in mood to proceed with similar structure this year. “Last year, we were told to make pink ball and supply them to the National Cricket Academy. But this year, nothing has been told to us. We are not able to understand whether the pink ball will continue or not this year,” said a cricket-gear supplier of India, quoted Times of India.
