The Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to sack team India’s batting and field Abhishek Nayar and T. Dilip after team India’s disappointing performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, as Rohit Sharma-led team lost the five match series by 3-1 margin.
Meanwhile, ahead of the England series scheduled for June, the BCCI has removed batting and fielding coach Abhishek Nayar and T. Dilip from the coaching staff. Soham Desai, the strength and conditioning coach, has also been sacked. They are unlikely to travel to England for the five-match Test series.
Nayar was appointed as the batting coach just eight months ago, while T. Dilip has been with the team since 2021. With Gautam Gambhir taking over as India’s head coach, he made several changes to the coaching staff, bringing in Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate, and Morne Morkel.
However, with the recent performance issues and the Australia series setback, the BCCI is signaling for a fresh start ahead of the upcoming England series. These changes are aimed at boosting team India’s chances in the highly anticipated five-match Test series in June.

No new appointments will be made to replace Nayar and T Dilip, as domestic cricket legend Sitanshu Kotak is currently with the team. Ryan ten Doeschate will take over Dilip’s responsibilities, while Adrian Le Roux is likely to take the role of Soham Desai, the strength and conditioning coach.
