The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to conduct an inquiry in to the on-going conflict between Shane Warne and Sanjay Dixit.

Both of them have been in confrontation with each other in the last few days on the pitch issues raised during Rajasthan s match against Chennai.

The chairman of the governing council of the Indian Premier League (IPL)Chirayu Amin, , has called for a hearing into the fight. The hearing will take place at Cricket Centre here on Tuesday at 3.15 pm.

The hearing has been called following a complaint lodged by Dixit, the secretary of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), who has alleged that the spin wizard and the skipper of Rajasthan Royals had publicly abused him.

It may be recalled that Warne had an altercation with Dixit on May 11 after Royals lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore at SMS Stadium in Jaipur. Warne is alleged to have blamed the RCA official for not providing the pitch that would have suited the Royals and Dixit, citing a BCCI circular, contended that the pitch cannot be the choice of the home franchise but the discretion of the members of the Board s pitch committee.

An RCA official confirmed to this paper that Dixit would be present at the hearing on Tuesday while a RR official refused to say if Warne would be present or will be represented by a lawyer. Ravi Shastri could be the second member of the disciplinary committee hearing the case.

The Royals management strove to play down the issue by issuing a public apology for the June 11 incident but the RCA took a hard position by rejecting the apology. The Dixit-led RCA upped the ante by stating that it was unable to take cognizance of the apology in the absence of details. The RCA even decided to lodge a criminal complaint against Warne.

In a separate decision, the RCA also decided to lodge a complaint against Dean Jones, who backed fellow Australian Warne by stating that “RCA should lick Shane Warne s feet” while commenting on the feud.
