The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided to scrap the Champions League Twenty20 in the Working Committee meeting that took place at Kolkata on Sunday. Mumbai Mirror reported that BCCI had a meeting with the Champions Governing Council.

It is said that both Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa, the two participating boards, were informed. It is also said even the broadcasters were finding it difficult to persist its alliance with the cash-rich tournament.

“The meeting will be called sooner than later. The discussions have been going on for a while,” said CSA president Chris Nenzani. The broadcaster is said to have been losing $100 million per year.
