England Cricket Board (ECB) announced their 17-member squad for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan, set to begin from October 7 to October 28 this year. Ben Stokes will lead the side in the three Tests, though he is currently on his road to recovery from a calf injury.

Duhram’s speed bowler Brydon Carse and wicketkeeper-batter from Essex have got their maiden calls for the Test series as well, along with spinners Rehan Ahmed and Jack Leach returning to the England squad.

England is currently on 6th number on the World Test Championships (WTC) table. They have played 16 matches; winning 8 of them, losing 7, and 1 ending up in a tie.

The team will now be looking to win this upcoming Test to have a chance to partake in the WTC finals, which will be held in England on June 2025.
