Bengal took a massive 395-run lead over Railways in the Plate knockout match at Kalyani, on Sunday to ensure a place in the elite group of the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) next season.

Bengal took a massive 395-run lead over Railways in the Plate knockout match at Kalyani, on Sunday to ensure a place in the elite group of the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) next season.
Resuming at 258 for two, Bengal rode on three centuries from skipper Sandhipan Das, Abhijit Mondal and Vivek Singh to end the third and penultimate day at 645 for seven.
Overnight batsmen Mondal went on to score 133 (229 balls; 15×4, 2×6) while Das made a delightful 130 (184b, 13×4, 2×6).
Singh slammed 106 (148b, 14×4) while Aamir Gani was unbeaten on 85 (130b, 10×4, 1×6).
Bengal will join Rajasthan and Maharashtra from plate to the elite division. (PTI)
