The International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed them being satisfied with the preparations by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to be held next year in Pakistan.
A discussion was held in an ICC meeting on Monday, which was attended by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. This meeting was held to discuss about the preparations of the event. Sources informed that PCB officials gave assurance to the ICC board members that the upgrades to all the stadiums for the event will be finished on time.
Mohsin also gave an invitation to the board members of ICC to visit Pakistan and determine the tournament preparations by themselves. Even thogh the Champions Trophy will be held next year, some challenges still remain while need to be solved.
There is, however, uncertainty of India going to Pakistan for the event. Indian team has not travelled to Pakistan since 2008 Asia Cup due to the intense situation between both the countries.
It was earlier reported that the ICC would either be looking to have the tournament go in Pakistan as planned, or follow a hybrid model and hold the series in both Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
