The Bhojpuri Dabanggs have been one of the less threatening sides in the history of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). They will look to change that in the CCL 2016. They have been slotted in Group A which will see other teams like Mumbai Heroes, Punjab de Sher and Bengal Tigers. Bhojpuri Dabanggs play their first CCL 2016 game on January 24 against the Bengal Tigers. That match will be held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The Dabanggs will look for a winning start to their campaign. ALSO READ: Chennai Rhinos CCL Team 2016: Schedule, Squad and Player details
Their next fixture will be on January 30 against the new Punjab De Sher outfit at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. Their final group stage fixture will be against the Mumbai Heroes on February 6 at Chandigarh’s Sector 16 Stadium. If they come out in the top two in their group, they will make it to the semi-final; victory in which will take them to the grand final. In the previous edition they were in Group A with the likes of Telugu Warriors, Karnataka Bulldozers and Bengal Tigers. It was a largely unsuccessful campaign for them where they managed to win not a single game, lost two and were involved in a tense tie with Bengal Tigers. This time around they will hope for a far better performance. ALSO READ: ICC under-19 World Cup 2016: South Africa, West Indies register wins in warm-up matches
Manoj Tiwari, the actor (as opposed to Manoj Tiwary the cricketer from Bengal), is captain of the side. The team features other famous names like Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Lal Yadav and Uday Tiwari among others.
