Bangladesh senior all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced that the upcoming Test series against South Africa is going to be his last Test match for the nation.

Shakib is currently is India to play the two-match Test series, though his participation is not confirmed in the 2nd Test as he is recovering from a finger injury he faced while batting. He got hit by a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah which needed a treatment as it started bleeding.

The Bangladeshi all-rounder said he wants to play his last Test match at Mirpur and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is trying their best to organise everything for him.

Speaking to reporters before the 2nd Test, Shakib told about his plans for both the Tests and ODI formats. He has not travelled to Bangladesh after the political distress since August.

“I have expressed my desire to play my last Test in Mirpur, if that won’t happen, second Test against India would be my last. Going back to Bangladesh is not a concern, but leaving Bangladesh once I go there is dangerous,” Shakib told reporters on Thursday.
