Before the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) have appointed legendary Indian cricketer Munaf Patel as their new bowling coach.

The former player was an important player in the Indian squad when they won the 2011 ODI World Cup, along with winning the IPL itself during his tenure as a Mumbai Indians (MI) player.

Munaf comes in as the replacement for James Hopes, and is going to be joining the head coach Hemang Badani along with other members in the team’s staff for the next season.

As a part of an overhaul in July 2024, DC formally broke their ties with James and former head coach Ricky Ponting. Since that time, they have decided to concentrate on assembling a coaching staff that mainly consists of Indians.
