The move is seen as an attempt to kick another member of the N Srinivasan-camp out of the board.

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) secretary Biswarup Dey has been appointed as the full-time media manager for the Indian cricket team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), with his first assignment being the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. Dey effectively replaces RN Baba for the same.

According to a report by India Today, Baba is the latest BCCI official from the N Srinivasan-led faction to be shown the door. Baba served as the media manager for a period of three years till the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, in which he was famously involved in the fiasco that saw Virat Kohli abusing a journalist.

The appointment of Dey, who is currently the head of the Media Committee of the BCCI, is seen by many as a move to forge a reconciliation between the media and the team, the relationship of which has seen a steady deterioration in the recent years.
