The investigations into the bomb blasts in Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium in April 2010 have revealed that the reason behind the attack was to avenge the exclusion of Pakistan cricketers from the cash-rich Indian Premier League.

The investigations into the bomb blasts in Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium in April 2010 have revealed that the reason behind the attack was to avenge the exclusion of Pakistan cricketers from the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
Reuters reported that Bengaluru police, which had sent a special team to New Delhi for interrogating few accused ‘Indian Mujahideen operatives’ recently arrested by Delhi police, declared that during their probe, the accused revealed the aforementioned reason for the attacks.
Mohammad Qateel from Drabhanga in Bihar and Ghayur Ahmed Jamali from Madhubani had come to Tumkur in Karnataka to prepare the bomb. Qateel and Ghayur, who were arrested by Delhi police, had planted the bomb before the match between home side Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.
Both the accused revealed that Indian Mujahideen, the outfit they belong to, were unhappy that Pakistani cricketers were omitted from the tournament.
