The Champions Trophy clash between Australia and South Africa has been abandoned due to rain. As the weather was bad from the beginning, and the weather reports suggest continuous rain throughout the day, there was no toss, and hence, the officials have called off the match.

This outcome was coming, and was expected by many. The final result of the match was in the hands of weather. It rained continuously since the morning, and there were no signs of groundstaff taking the covers off.

Since the cutoff time was 7:32 PM, there were no signs of the ground being ready for the required least amount of 20 overs that needed to be played in order for a result to be announced.

Since the match has been called off, both the teams have got one point each, meaning the upcoming England vs Afghanistan clash will be a crucial knockout. The losing team is going to be the third team to be eliminated, with the first two being Bangladesh and Pakistan.
