Gujarat Lions have begun their mammoth chase of 196, their target to win the 25th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 in which they are playing against Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS). Albie Morkel and Ashok Dinda opened the bowling for RPS. They were up against two destructive batsmen— Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith. Both the batters started off slowly taking some time to get their eye in. After two overs, GL were 9 for no loss, and needed 187 more runs from 108 deliveries at a run rate of 10.30 per over. McCullum changed his batting gear in the third over hitting two  back-to-back fours (off Morkel’s bowling) which included a wide in the middle. Morkel bowled another wide and McCullum hit him for a six his next ball. McCullum pulled the ball hard towards mid-wicket region. After the end of three overs, GL had reached 33 with all wickets intact. Live Cricket Scorecard: Rising Pune Supergiants vs Gujarat Lions, IPL 2016, MATCH 25

Morkel’s second over fetched Gujarat 24 runs as the batsmen had run two couples as well. Gujarat were then opening up quite a bit but they had a long way to go. RPS needed wickets as both their openers were looking to take the match away from them. Good thing for Lions was that along with big scoring shots, they were taking singles and doubles with equal ease. Live Blog: Rising Pune Supergiants vs Gujarat Lions, IPL 2016, MATCH 25
