Australia pacer Brett Lee garnered praise from all over after he rejected New South Wales contract for the upcoming season, as he believes his place could be taken by any upcoming cricketer.

Australian Cricketers Association boss Paul Marsh said this move of the 35-year-old Lee is selfless and unlikely to be replicated.

“It was a very selfless thing that he did,” ACA chief Marsh said.

Lee announced on Tuesday that he did not want to sign a NSW contract as he would be playing only a handful of one-day matches at state level next summer.

He believes the upgraded Cricket Australia contract, which will fetch him $190,000 will be enough.

However, Lee said he would be available for NSW on a ”match-by-match” basis, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
