After deliberating and struggling to get things under way — Tim Southee and Trent Boult’s bowling had a major part to play there, Robin Peterson decided to get a move on with the score and smashed two cracking boundaries with the run-rate mounting with every passsing minuite. The maverick, Hashim Amla was also slowly beginning to get into the game as a few boundaries got the score a move on.
Earlier, Trent Boult’s wicked swing is soon begining to veer towards towards the promised land of emulating role model Wasim Akram. In what was a brilliant off cutter of the first delivery, Stiaan van Zyl had no answer and was castled to leave a mountain to climb for the South Africans. Robin Peterson was promoted up the order and displayed a few unentionally funny moments with him trying to bl0ck out the pace and swing of the wily Tim Southee.
Kane Williamson’s outstanding hundred and the crafty Anton Devcich smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground in what was more like a firing squad routein for the Cape Cobras as Northern Knights ended with a commanding total in the 3rd match of the Champions League T20 (CLT20). In what was one of the premier batting displays witnessed in the tournament so far, the bowlers kept erring in line and Williamson mixed his charecteristic elegance with the savagery precision of Suresh Raina on song for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
