Mumbai Indians will face Lahore Lions in the second qualifying match of Champions League Twenty 20 (CLT20) at Raipur on Saturday. Kieron Pollard will lead the Mumbai Indians side in the absence of their regular captain Rohit Sharma. Mumbai Indians look the stronger side on paper, but one can’t rule out Lahore Lions given the unpredictable nature of the format.

MI will have to regroup and get going soon under their new captain Kieron Pollard. An overseas captain has its own challenges for the team but Pollard has been with this team right since its first season which will make it easy. Mumbai had a forgettable first half of the IPL 2014 in UAE. But they struck the right note back home. The main reason was a certain Lendl Simmons who played breezy knocks and continued doing so in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Going by the squad, Corey Anderson, Lendl Simmons and Lasith Malinga seem certain to occupy the remaining three overseas slots.

Coming to the Lahore Lions, they have an experienced captain in Mohammad Hafeez. A key T20 player for Pakistan and has lead them in two World T20s. With some class players like Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal, this team has immense batting firepower to smash the opposition. They defeated Faisalabad Wolves in a thrilling contest earlier in February to clinch the Faysal Bank T20 cup and thereby qualifying for this tournament.
