Cheteshwar Pujara shines with bat to guide Indian Oil Corporation Limited to victory in Twenty20 tournament

Pujara, scored an unbeaten 38 as his side chased the 98-run target with half of their overs to spare.

Pune: Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravikant Shukla guided Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to a 10-wicket victory over Oil India Ltd (OIL) in the 35th Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) Inter-Unit T20 Cricket Tournament at Pune on Monday.

IOCL restricted their rivals to 97 for three and then hit the required runs in only 10 overs at Poona Club Ground. Pujara scored 38 not out off 32 balls and Shukla blasted an unbeaten 55 in 28 balls in a team total of 99 for no loss.

In another game at the same venue, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, the tournament hosts, were beaten by five wickets by ONGC. Eight teams from the national oil sector in India, divided in two groups, are taking part in the tournament.

Group A comprises IOCL, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), OIL and Engineers India Ltd (EIL). Group B includes Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), ONGC, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) and Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL).

Matches are being conducted at Poona Club and PYC Gymkhana. Scores: OIL 97 for 3 (Sunil Ranjan Gogoi 45) lost to IOCL 99 for no loss in 10 overs (Cheteshwar Pujara 38 not out, Ravikant Shukla 55 not out).
