Chhattisgarh beat Goa in a low-scoring C.K. Nayudu trophy encounter

Spinner Harpreet Singh starred with a 10-wicket haul as debutants Chhattisgarh registered a six-wicket win over hosts Goa in a low-scoring U-22 C K Nayudu tie at the PCA ground on Sunday.
Harpreet Singh, who had taken five wickets in the first innings, ripped through the Goa batting order with figures of five for 23 as the hosts, who made 134 in their first essay, were bowled out for 126 in their second innings leaving Chhattisgarh a target of 142 to win.
Singh was well supported by Vishal Khushwah who had figures of 3-23.
Opener Shaikh Wasim scored an unbeaten 76 as the visitors, who were bundled out for a paltry 119 in their first innings, reached the target in 42 overs.
Wasim’s knock came in 130 balls and was studded with eight boundaries.
For Goa Gaurish Gauns and Vivian Castalino bagged a wicket each. (PTI)
