In the game played between Antigua Hawksbills and Jamaica Tallawahs at Kingston, Jamaica, in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2014, the Tallawahs went onto beat Hawksbills by seven wickets. It was a comfortable victory for the Tallawahs in the end. Hawksbills elected to bat first and could muster only 89 runs on the board.
Tallawahs took only 14 overs to chase down the target and win the game with utmost ease. Chris Gayle made 59 runs for them. He remained not out as well. Gayle, in his fine innings smashed two fours and thumped six sixes. While bowling, Jerome Taylor took four wickets for the Tallawahs setup. He bowled with good pace and skill to trouble the batsmen all the time.
This result means that Hawksbills haven’t won a single game till now and Tallawahs are sitting pretty in the points table with four wins to their name. They are second in the points table. At present, Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel are the team to beat in the CPL 2014.
