Perth Scorchers set a target of 141 against Auckland Aces in their Group A match of the Champions League Twenty20 at the Centurion.

 

The Aces struck at regular interval, keeping the Scorchers well under their control.

 

The Scorchers lost their top-order early in the match. However, Paul Collingwood helped the side to reach a respectable score.

 

Collingwood top scored with 38. Skipper Marcus North garnered 37 runs after the opening pair stumbled.

 

Michael Bates picked up four wickets, two wickets coming in the last over to restrict the Scorchers from reaching a big total.

 

Ronnie Hira picked up one wicket of Simon Katich.

 

Earlier, Perth Scorchers’ captain Marcus North won the toss and elected to bat against Auckland Aces.
