Trinidad and Tobago captain Denesh Ramdin won the toss and elected to bat first against Yorkshire in qualifier match of the Champions League (CLT20) at Centurion on Wednesday.
The Caribbean champions, considered the strongest team in their qualifying group, must win against England’s T20 runners-up Yorkshire to keep their chances of advancing alive, CMC reports.
Yorkshire are one win away from qualifying after their five-wicket win over Uva and a second victory at Centurion could send the Trinidadians crashing out of the tournament.
T&T management is monitoring a groin injury to all-rounder Kevon Cooper, who scored an unbeaten 32-ball 62 to be their top batsman in a warm-up game against Auckland Aces Sunday.
Teams:
Trinidad and Tobago: William Perkins, Lendl Simmons, Adrian Barath, Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin(c&wk), Jason Mohammed, Kevon Cooper, Yannick Ottley, Rayad Emrit, Ravi Rampaul, Samuel Badree.
Yorkshire: Andrew Gale(c), Phil Jaques, Joseph Root, Adam Lyth, Gary Ballance, Adil Rashid, Dan Hodgson(w), Azeem Rafiq, Ryan Sidebottom, Steven Patterson, Moin Ashraf.
