Social media has erupted with a massive controversy as Washington Sundar got dismissed during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT). Washington was playing brilliantly, but was ultimately dismissed on 49 runs by Mohammed Shami.
During 14th over, Washington hit a ball towards sweeper cover, where Aniket Verma took a crucial catch. However, the umpires were not satisfied with the catch and hence, a review was taken. Even though some angles suggested the ball might have made contact with the ground, the third umpire declared it a clean catch. This decision led to fans on social media calling out the instance, leading to a massive controversy.

Captain Shubman Gill led the team excellently as he scored a classy half-century after Mohammed Shami had crushed their opponent with figure of 4/17 as Gujarat Titans secured a 7-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
