The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 is witnessing one of the largest runs in the history of tournament. During the seventh game between Guyana Amazon Warriors and SKN Patriots, Guyana scored 266 runs and Shimron Hetmyr was the player with the highest runs as he scored 91 runs in 39 balls.
The chase was started by Patriots on the right place and determination to complete their target. Even after losing early wicket of Evin Lewis, Sherfane Rutherford along with captain Andre Fletcher pulled the momentum significantly.
Both batters gave high levels of stress to the bowlers, which led to visible frustration in the Patriots. This level of stress turned out to become frustration which was then visible during the 8th over of the second innings where Keemo Paul tried to block Andre Fletcher’s path as he was scoring big time.
Paul blocking Fletcher was not taken lightly by the captain, as he confronted the bowler immediately. Paul refused to back down and exchanged words with Fletcher, which resulted in the situation being escalated as both the players asserted their dominance.
Luckily, the situation was cooled off before something bad happened, all thanks to their teammates and the umpires who came in at the correct time to stop any mishap.
