The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2015 is on full swing and there the CPL has announced that there will be another attraction to look forward to this season in form of an all star charity T20 game. The game will take place at St. Kitts and Nevis and will feature names like Damian Martyn, Murali Karthik, Darren Gough and Darren Ganga among others.
The teams will be categorised as Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis XI and Sir Vivian Richards XI. The match is scheduled to take place on 2 July and proceeds from the match will be handed out to a local charity, CPL said in a press release.
The selected charity — St Kitts-Nevis National Education Foundation — is an organisation that aims to provide deserving disadvantaged students with an opportunity to avail of quality education.
Viv Richards, under whose name one of the teams will compete, was excited about the prospect. “St. Kitts and Nevis is a beautiful island and home to some of the most passionate cricket fans in the Caribbean, so I hope the fans will be out to support us!” he said.
