Not long ago did Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne promote cricket in USA, playing Cricket All-Stars League that was loaded with former greats. For that matter, the marketing of the game has gone few levels up in the United States. A sports development company named Global Sports Ventures (GSV) has designed a roadmap to expand cricket in the United States, announcing plans to create an estimated $2.4 Billion in business development and infrastructure to trigger economic growth across eight states. The plan also says that it will generate 17,800 new jobs, including media and broadcasting, medicine and rehab, support staff, coaches, players, among others.
“We are excited to welcome this opportunity that GSV have brought to us, as it will be a great addition to the professional sports network that we already have in San Francisco. It also reinforces our city’s reputation as not just the capital of innovation and technology, but as an exciting and diverse global hub for culture, arts and sport,” said Dennis Conaghan, Executive Director of San Francisco Center for Economic Development, in GSV’s press release on Monday.
