Former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe has resigned from the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) board’s cricket committee citing “conflicts of interest”, reported New Zealand Herald.

The majestic strokemaker of yesteryears, however, denied that the decision had anything to do with New Zealand Cricket’s indecision of choosing a new Black Caps captain after Daniel Vettori stepped down as ODI and T20 captain.

“It’s got nothing to do with indecision. There’s just a few conflicts of interest there and it’s just not the right timing for me,” Crowe was quoted as saying by the New Zealand Herald.

Other Cricket Committee members includes former paceman Shane Bond, Gerard Gillespie and NZC board members Stephen Boock, Chris Moller, Rob Hart and Sir John Hansen.
