England did not use the new ball well and bowled a bit all over the place. James Anderson was the only bowler to extract some swing while Stuart Broad was too straight. Australian openers Chris Rogers and David Warner were circumspect and kept flirting with danger outside off. They found boundaries but not that convincingly. Once set though both Warner and Rogers started to find the fence at regular intervals. Alastair Cook brought on Moeen Ali and Warner went after him right away hitting him for a couple of boundaries. But Ali struck back to have Warner caught at wide long off for a score of 38. Australia are now 8 for one at the end of 15 overs with Steven Smith joining Rogers at the crease.
