Deccan Chargers have won the toss and elected to bat against Mumbai Indians in the ninth match of the Indian Premier League (2012) in Visakhapatnam.
Kumar Sangakkara returns as the skipper of Deccan Chargers while Anand Rajan replaces Manpreet Gony and T Suman replaces Suryakumar Yadav in Mumbai Indians.
After suffering reverses in their respective previous encounters, both Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers would look to get their campaign on track when they meet in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Monday.
Despite missing Sachin Tendulkar to injury, Mumbai Indians still look the stronger side, on paper at least, but the visitors must be aware of the fact that the Chargers’ would be playing in front of their home crowd.
While the Chargers lost to defending champions Chennai Super Kings to start their campaign on a sour note yesterday, Mumbai were done in by Ashok Dinda’s four-wicket haul when they clashed with Pune Warriors in their last match.
Deccan Chargers: Shikhar Dhawan, Parthiv Patel, Kumar Sangakkara (c & wk), Cameron White, Bharat Chipli, Daniel Christian, Dwaraka Ravi Teja, Anand Rajan, Ankit Sharma, Dale Steyn, TP Sudhindra
Mumbai Indians: Richard Levi, Tirumalsetti Suman, Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, James Franklin, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh (c), Lasith Malinga, Munaf Patel, Pragyan Ojha
