Deepti Sharma completed 1,000 ODI runs during the third and final ODI against South Africa at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. She became the 10th Indian Women and 84th overall to reach the landmark.

Last year on this very venue, Deepti produced a stunning 188-run knock the second highest score in women’s ODIs to set up India’s massive 249-run win over Ireland. She, along with Punam Raut, had also put up a record 320-run stand for the opening wicket to take India to a commanding 358 for 3. Deepti’s 160-ball innings was studded with 27 boundaries and 2 sixes. However, currently she has provided resistance losing Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana early on. She has also added 50-plus stand with Veda Krishnamurthy.
