Delhi boy Vikas Dixit achieved a perfect ten by claiming all the wickets in an innings in a Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) league match on Thursday.
Representing the KG Colts, Dixit picked 10 wickets for just 26 runs against Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to help his team register a 222-run victory.
“We had put up 309/7 and in reply they were cruising well with 45 for no loss after 15 overs. After I was introduced in the next over, I immediately started getting wickets,” said the 16-year old.
“By the time I got four, it came to my mind that I may get ten. But after I got eight, I became sure that I will get all the wickets. I am very happy and this may work well for my career as my name may be highlighted,” Dixit was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
Batting first KG Colts had scored 309 for the loss of seven wickets with Dixit contributing 33 runs to the total. The 16-year old credits his success to his coach Sanjay Bharadwaj. Bharadwaj was also the coach for Gautam Gambhir in his early days. “It was on Gambhir’s advice that I focused more on Dixit’s bowling,” said Bharadwaj.

The young cricketer made no fuss about his achievement and said, “There is no big celebration planned. I sought blessings from Sanjay sir and he asked me to continue the good work.”
