Faf du Plessis, the vice-captain of Delhi Capitals (DC), has given his team a massive boost as he has been deemed fit to be able to play ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Faf was unable to play in a lot of previous games due to a groin injury.
“He’s available tomorrow from my understanding. He should be available for selection,” Jake Fraser-McGurk said on April 26.
Faf du Plessis made his last appearance for DC on April 10. He came in as an impact player, and left for a single-digit score. He had previously scored 29 runs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and a half century against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as well.
Faf du Plessis is going to play for the first time in DC’s original home ground. As the former South African captain is returning, he might take over Karun Nair’s position and come to open with Abhishek Porel
During their last clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the Axar Patel-led team beat RCB by six wickets. The top order of DC broke apart as they were chasing 164, but KL Rahul led his team home with 13 balls to spare. He was assisted by Tristan Stubbs in their chase.
As of DC, they are at the second place in the standings with 6 wins in 8 games. They will secure the top place if they manage to beat RCB in their upcoming clash.
