According to the Press Release issued by DD, The players who attended the opening function were Zaheer Khan, Mohammed Shami, Quinton de Kock, Angelo Mathews, Gurinder Sandhu, Imran Tahir, Amit Mishra and Saurabh Tiwary. The members of the support staff present were head coach Gary Kirsten, assistant coaches Pravin Amre and S Sriram, bowling mentor TA Sekar and manager Sunil Valson. At the function, coach Kirsten, mentor Sekar and Mr Valson spoke to the young players who will train at the academy. They advised the students to dream big and asked them to learn as much as they can from the coaches at the Academy. IPL 2015: JP Duminy fears of Delhi Daredevils’ unsettled unit
“Dream big, aim to learn as much as you can. The more you learn, ask questions and talk to the coaches the better prepared you will be. Later, the entire squad and the support staff met the trainees at the academy in separate groups according to their skill sets and answered their questions. The fast bowlers, spinners, batsmen and wicket-keepers among the trainees gained valuable insights. “It was a great experience interacting with the young kids. The questions they asked were really an eye-opener because it showed how much they were eager to learn. Even the members of the support staff were thrilled to be at the Academy’s inauguration. “It is a great achievement to start this set-up.
