The Deodhar Trophy would take place in Mumbai from November 29 to December 3. Mumbai would play host to the Deodhar Trophy as per the calendar chalked out by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
South Zone would take on Central Zone in the first game on November 29, with the winners moving up for a semi-final meeting with West Zone, on December 1. East Zone would clash with North Zone in the other semi-final on the same day.
The final is scheduled on December 3. Prior to the Deodhar Trophy, the Vijay Hazare Trophy would be held in three centres, Rajkot, Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
Rajkot would host two pre-quarterfinals on November 19, followed by two quarter-finals on November 20. The other two quarter-finals would be played at Vadodara on November 21, followed by semi-finals on November 23 at Ahmedabad. The final, on November 25 in Ahmedabad, would be a day-night fixture.
The two limited overs tournaments are being held in 2014, prior to the Ranji Trophy, to enable selectors to have a wider choice of players, before finalising the 30-strong probables’ list for the 2015 World Cup.
All the World Cup nations would have to name their list of probables two months in advance, before announcing the final squad one month prior to the tournament.
