Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) President and BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that, HPCA stadium at Dharamshala is fully prepared to host the India-England ODI in January next year.
“72 rooms in Pavilion (Players hotel of HPCA) are ready, where the host team will stay. The visiting team shall be placed in private hotel of the city.” Anurag declared satisfaction over the infrastructure of HPCA stadium on the eve of a T20 match between Indian and English parliamentarians in Dharamshala on Friday.
The match between Indian and English parliamentarians in Dharamshala was a “huge success”, “The visiting UK team was so impressed that they extended invitation for such a match in London in the near future and expressed the desire to come again for a similar match at Dharamshala,” he said, adding such matches help in fostering ties between countries which are difficult to achieve through closed-door meetings.
He said it has encouraged him to plan similar friendly outings with several countries neighboring India.
Anurag said it is his personal desire to start such ties with neighboring countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. He said he will discuss the subject with leaders of his party before putting the idea in front of the government for approval.
