India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Friday urged the government to use the Games village which hosted the National Games as a practice arena for different sports persons.

“I would like to request the government to use the sports infrastructure for practice of players,” Dhoni said at the “Cash Award Ceremony” here to give away government announced cheques to National Games medal winners from Jharkhand.

One of the greatest captains, Dhoni emphasised on the importance of hard work and said “there is no short cut to success”.

“Don’t sit back quietly (after winning medals) as your win has put more responsibility (on your shoulder)… so work hard to achieve more glory,” said Dhoni while congratulating medal winners of the February National Games once again.

Dhoni, who is bracing up to confront Australia in the summer cricket Test series there, had promised to attend the ceremony here and was happy that he could keep his promise.

“I had told you that I would come to the games village during the national games; and I kept my word. Today also I fulfilled the promise (to attend the ceremony),” Dhoni said at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium where Chief Minister Arjun Munda, his cabinet members and other dignitaries were present.
