Dindigul Dragons (DDD) take on VB Thiruvallur Veerans (VTV) in Match 9 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) at the India Cement Company Ground at Tirunelveli. DDD have won both of their matches so far which they played against Madurai Super Giants (MGS) and Ruby Kanchi Warriors in the tournament. Similarly, VTV have also won both of their matches against Karaikudi Kaalai and MSG. So far, both the teams are undefeated in the tournament and have looked quite strong, especially DDD as their main player Ravichandran Ashwin is back in the side as captain.
Both the sides will look to continue their winning momentum and will be eyeing to outplay their respective opponents. Looking at the points table, DDD are at top because of net run rate despite winning same number of games. To remain at top, DDD have to win this, while it will be quite challenging for VTV to beat the Ashwin-led side and rise as the top team of the tournament.
VTV’s skipper Baba Aparajith is currently playing in the Duleep Trophy, as a result of which Malolan Rangarajan will lead the side once again like he did in the last game for his team. The Tamil Nadu players have the option of playing in the TNPL, if they are not picked in the Duleep Trophy, but Aparajith has been picked and will miss out in this game. The TNPL has been a competitive tournament so far and let us hope that this game too lives up to the expectations.
