Just four months after Sri Lanka had lifted the world crown, the 1996 World Cup, James and Gabriel, an Australian couple shifted base to Colombo and then set up the iconic cricket café. The idea was to fuel the island nation with obsession of cricket as they were having the victory hangover.

A whole lot of memorabilia has been put up in the café, some date back to the inception of the game. James anyways had scores of niche items with him and whenever a cricketer stopped by this place they gifted some antique things.

Gabriel admits the idea was her husband’s and said, “This is like the hard rock café of cricket. The walls here are dedication to different teams.”
